WHATS A POKER RUN?

Katarina Sunshine Ride: VOLUNTEER

Pre-Registration Form

(one per person)

KATS SUNSHINE RIDE
$30.00

Kat’s Sunshine Ride is more than a motorcycle poker run. It is a day built around community, connection, and carrying Katarina’s light forward on the open road.

The ride will begin at 10:00 a.m. at Turtle River State Park in Arvilla, ND, and conclude at University Park in Grand Forks, ND. Riders will travel together to five designated stop points, to be announced soon. At each stop, a rider will draw a card from the deck and record it on the rider’s poker run sheet. By the final stop, every participant will have a full hand and a story from the ride.

A winning hand will receive a prize, with details coming soon. In the event of a tie, the winner will be decided through a fun tiebreaker competition.

Registration is $25 per person and includes a commemorative Kat’s Sunshine Ride T-shirt and a special patch, available in velcro or iron-on. Pre-registration is required, and an invoice will be sent to each registered participant. All riders must also check in on the day of the event, complete registration, and sign a waiver before the ride begins. Shirts and patches can be picked up on the day of the ride, and irons will be available on site for anyone who would like to apply their patch immediately.

While children are not encouraged to participate in the ride, we understand some families may wish to include them. Any child participating is the sole responsibility of the accompanying adult, and that adult must also sign a waiver on the child’s behalf.

Volunteers play a vital role in making Kat’s Sunshine Ride safe and successful. Each volunteer will receive a custom-made T-shirt at no cost, along with clear instructions on how to help at each poker run stop. Safety is the top priority. Every location will be clearly designated with signage and a pop-up tent to ensure riders and volunteers are visible and protected. Volunteers will assist with card draws, tracking poker sheets, and helping maintain a safe and steady flow at each stop.

We are expecting 40 to 100 riders and are seeking approximately 40 volunteers to help support the ride across all locations. Volunteer showtime at Turtle River would be at 9 am.

All proceeds and donations from this charity event will directly support Justice For Katarina LLC, helping fund advocacy efforts, community support initiatives, and ongoing work centered on accountability, law reform, and honoring Katarina’s legacy.

Kat’s Sunshine Ride is about sunshine, engines, community, and care. It is a chance to come together, honor a beautiful life, and move forward with purpose, one mile at a time.
